Storia di Beltramo
Lino Beltramo è stato un artigiano abilissimo di Torino, divenuto celebre per l’uso esclusivo della saldobrasatura “a basin” nella sua produzione di biciclette. Questa tecnica richiede una grande conoscenza da parte del telaista, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la temperatura dei materiali in fase di saldatura, essendo molto stretto l’intervallo di temperature che ne consente la perfetta riuscita. Si tramanda che abbia appreso questa virtuosa tecnica nei suoi trascorsi professionali come telaista presso la fabbrica Alcyon, grande marchio francese con una sua sede di rappresentanza a Torino. Non si è affatto sicuri abbia lavorato in Francia, ma vi fu indubbiamente un legame tra Lino e la Alcyon: le sue carte intestate ci rivelano che è stato agente generale della marca in Italia con la sua bottega di via Lessona a Torino. Certo è che abbia poi coniugato la sua indiscutibile tecnica con una inesauribile cura del particolare, con l’obiettivo fisso della leggerezza, della fruibilità e dell’elegana, al punto tale da essere diventato un riferimento assoluto nel ciclismo agonistico piemontese già alla fine degli anni 20. Celebri sono difatti i suoi modelli da corsa, tutti raffinatissimi, leggerissimi, che testimoniano la massima espressione dell’arte telaistica della sua epoca. Direttamente dalla famiglia, questa preziosa bicicletta da corsa Beltramo del 1935! Una classica bicicletta saldata a “basin” da Beltramo, senza congiunzioni, con un enorme lavoro di lima di questo bravissimo artigiano piemontese. Si crede che l’elegantissima e caratteristica testa della famosa forcella Cinellidegli anni 50 -60, sia stata creata osservando l’elegante e minimale testa delle forcella dei capolavori di Lino Beltramo. Caratteristica delle biciclette Beltramo era anche il colore chiamato “Azzurro Beltramo”.
Lino Beltramo was a highly skilled craftsman from Turin, who became famous for the exclusive use of "basin" braze welding in his bicycle production. This technique requires a great deal of knowledge from the frame maker, especially as regards the temperature of the materials being welded, the temperature range being very narrow which allows for perfect results. It is handed down that he learned this virtuous technique in his professional past as a frame builder at the Alcyon factory, a large French brand with its representative office in Turin. It is not at all sure that he worked in France, but there was undoubtedly a link between Lino and Alcyon: his letterheads reveal to us that he was general agent of the brand in Italy with his shop in via Lessona in Turin. What is certain is that he then combined his unquestionable technique with an inexhaustible attention to detail, with the fixed objective of lightness, usability and elegance, to the point of having become an absolute reference in Piemontese competitive cycling already at the end of the years 20. In fact, his racing models are famous, all very refined, very light, which testify to the maximum expression of the canvas art of his time. Directly from the family, this precious Beltramo racing bicycle from 1935! A classic bicycle welded to "basin" from Beltramo, without conjunctions, with an enormous file work of this talented Piemontese craftsman. It is believed that the extremely elegant and characteristic head of the famous Cinelli fork from the 1950s and 1960s was created by observing the elegant and minimal head of the forks of Lino Beltramo's masterpieces. Characteristic of Beltramo bicycles was also the color called "lightblue Beltramo".
