Nel 1984 l'azienda di abbigliamento veronese Carrera Jeans entrò come primo sponsor nel ciclismo professionistico. Con la nuova maglia CARRERA il velocista Guido Bontempi conquistò la Gand-Wevelgem nel 1984, ripetendosi anche nel 1986, stagione in cui vinse anche cinque tappe al Giro d'Italia e la maglia ciclamino della classifica a punti. Proprio nella "Corsa rosa" del 1986 il leader della Carrera Visentini riuscì ad aggiudicarsi la prestigiosa classifica finale. Nel 1987 per la Carrera Stephen Roche vinse ilTour de Romandie, il Tour de France ed il titolo mondiale. Altri corridori Carrera furono Claudio Chiappucci che nel 1991 si aggiudicò anche la Milano-Sanremo e nel 1993 la Clásica San Sebastián, affermando la Carrera tra le squadre più in vista del periodo. Nel 1989 intanto Boifava, insieme al meccanico del team Luciano Bracchi, aveva fondato la Carrera Podium, azienda di biciclette che cominciò a fornire i telai alla squadra. Nei primi anni novanta ci fu la progressiva crescita in squadra di un giovane Marco Pantani. Passato professionista nel settembre 1992 proprio con la Carrera, nella stagione 1994 il futuro "Pirata" chiuse sul podio sia al Giro d'Italia (secondo) che al Tour de France (terzo, più la maglia bianca di miglior giovane, riconquistata l'anno successivo). Oltre ad i telai in acciaio Pantani utilizzò un telaio in titanio prodotto molto probabilmente dal famoso costruttore di telai in titanio Passoni di Milano.
In 1984 the Veronese clothing company Carrera Jeans entered as the first sponsor in professional cycling. In the early nineties there was the progressive growth of a young Marco Pantani in the team. Passed professional in September 1992 with Carrera, in the 1994 season the future "Pirate" closed on the podium both at the Giro d'Italia (second) and at the Tour de France (third, plus the white jersey of best young man, regained the year following). In addition to the steel frames Pantani used a titanium frame most likely produced by the famous manufacturer of titanium frames Passoni from Milan.
